We had the most amazing stay here! Jim and Shawn are absolutely fantastic hosts. The location of the property can't be beat--less than 10 minutes from the North entrance of Yellowstone. The house itself is beautiful with extraordinarily comfortable beds and a completely stocked kitchen and bathroom, which makes packing so much easier. Our son loved logging on to the TV every night after exploring Yellowstone. We also loved feeding the horses every morning! We took advantage of the meal options Shawn and Jim offer, and we had the ham and beans and the elk stew. Our son declared the ham and beans, in particular, to be the best meal he's ever had, and said, "The best cooks in Montana are here!". We also loved the elk in the yard every morning, and how quiet and peaceful the area is. As for the negative reviews: if you cancel within a week of your visit, you will lose your money unless you have purchased insurance. A place like a remote corner of Montana is not a last-minute planned vacation--that is a vacation planed in advance--and the owners cannot be expected to absorb the cost of cancelled rooms when they have almost zero prospects of renting them out again at the last minute. We are absolutely going to be coming back and staying with Shawn and Jim again, and we have already recommended them to friends and family!

We stayed in the Sage Creek Cabin and it was AMAZING! I know other reviews have mentioned that you cannot get your money back if you cancel, but that is made very clear when booking, that is also why there is insurance offered if need be. This place was amazing! Very clean, safe, quiet and peaceful! I am a horse girl and the horses they have and other animals are VERY...WELL...CARED...FOR!!!! Yes they are hunters but I applaud you for that and being responsible about it. Thank you so much for an amazing place to make unforgettable memories! The beds were VERY comfortable and huge! The in unit washer and dryer, dish washer and accessible shower were perfect! Thank you for your hospitality and being very responsive! We WILL MOST CERTAINLY BE BACK!!! Thank you for thinking of everything we may possibly need!!! We REALLY appreciate how accommodating you are about pets, providing beds for them indoors and outdoors! We cannot thank you enough!!! My only suggestion is to change your names to a little piece of heaven on earth!

Can't recommend these cabins enough!! We have stayed here 4 times in the last three years and have another trip planned later this month. All cabins are very clean and well stocked, with very nice furniture and furnishings. Although there are 3 cabins on this property, each is very private. The property owners live onsite and were always available for the slightest thing!! The views and wildlife are exceptional!! The fact they are 4 miles from Yellowstone Park is just another plus!!

This is a great place to explore Yellowstone National Park. It’s 5 minutes from Gardiner at the North Entrance and Yellowstone Hot Springs. It sits on 10 acres with hundreds of thousands of miles to explore in the backyard. You can hike Little Trail Creek Trail for miles. It’s far enough from town there’s room to relax and explore. There are so many extras provided.

Perfect location, perfect views, absolutely perfect amenities. So close to Yellowstone, yet far enough away to divert the tourism feel and congestion. Perfect get away from a long day of exploring & hiking. Hosts are always available & very responsive !

I stayed here for four weeks in August 2025. I enjoyed everything so much I am going to return next summer!! The location is fabulous;10 minutes from north entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The view from the property itself is stunning. There are numerous excellent hiking opportunities in the immediate Gallatin National Forest area, including right out the back door!! My cabin was Lookout Cabin, and it was wonderfully furnished and decorated! Shawn the host has thought of EVERYTHING anyone could need for a Montana vacation! Shawn and Jim live on the property too, and are lovely hosts who make themselves easily available for any needs. I HIGHLY recommend Little Trail Creek Cabins for your next Montana/Yellowstone National Park adventure!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Sage cabin! It was incredibly comfortable with great beds and had literally everything you could think of—from bear spray and sunscreen to every kitchen item you could need. The property itself was beautiful, with horses right outside the window and gorgeous mountain views all around. The location couldn’t be better—just 7 minutes from Yellowstone and 5 minutes from Gardiner. Perfect mix of convenience and peaceful scenery. We would definitely stay here again!

Our family stayed in the Sage Cabin for four nights and loved our experience here! The cabin feels much more like a luxury house than a cabin with comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen, and the best views from the porch. The extras (toy cabin, hiking trail on property, horses right outside the door) that Little Trail Creek offers make the stay 100% worth it.
